Please note that with all internal applications of solar control window film there is a risk of thermal fracture of the glass. However, this risk is minimal and we can run a thermal stress analysis to ensure compatibility with the glazing type. This test assumes that the windows are glazed in accordance with BS6262 Glazing Code of Practice and that there are no existing edge faults within the frame rebate. During installation, squeegee pressure is applied. There can be a risk that some glazing may be cracked or broken due to this pressure or poor frame condition (especially old single glazing). When existing window film is removed, there is also a risk of glass breakage. WF Glazing Protection Ltd will not be liable for any such loss or damage where we are not at fault or where any damage caused is not foreseeable and not due to the companies negligence.

Installation will be carried out in accordance with the Glass and Glazing Federation's 'Visual Quality Standard for Applied Window Film' which states that:

  • 4.1:1 Installed film on flat surfaces is not expected to have the same level of visual quality as glass.
  • 4.1:2 Installed film has a discrete time for full adhesion to be effected.
  • 4.1:3 Inspection for optical quality can be made before full visual cure is attained.
  • 4.1:4 The glass with applied film shall be viewed at right angles to the glass from the room side, at a distance of not less than 2 metres. Viewing shall be done in natural daylight and not in direct sunlight.
  • 4.1:5 The installation may be deemed acceptable if any of the following are unobtrusive (when looking through the film under conditions described in 4.1:4): Dirt Particles, Water Haze, Hair and Fibres, Scores and Scratches, Adhesive Gels, Distortion, Fingerprints, Creases, Insects, Air Bubbles, Edge Lift, and Nicks and Tears.
  • 4.1:6 Edge gaps will normally be 1-4mm.
  • 4.1:7 Splicing of films is necessary when larger panels of glass are treated.
